I don’t know why this din’t occur to me earlier: While DVD Regions (and players that obey them) are a pain to deal with, there’s actually no law in the world[1] that forbids me to buy two or three DVD players, each running under it’s specific region code.

With prices less than 50$, this is still a considerable amount of money, I agree, but hey, it buys you the legal right to watch almost whatever DVD you wish!

And all the blood and sweat that went into the DVD region and CSS[2] spec has been spent for … nothin’. :)
