Volume Logic

The last few days, I ran my copy of the Volume Logic iTunes plugin developed by Octiv. From their web-site a few words about the plugin:

I used it with my iTunes library that consists of many different genres of music and I am really impressed. The sound is really more balanced without being distorted at all. As someone said, “Bad speakers sound good and good speakers even sound better”. I completely agree.

The only drawback in my case is the considerable amount of CPU cycles the plugin needs. It easily adds 5-10% to iTunes, which makes my PB hum a lot when other processes run as well.

And if we’re at it: It would be great if the plugin would be checking a song’s “Genre” an adopt it’s own setting accordingly. But maybe that’s something for the manufacturer.

BTW: They have a cool demo period: It’s not 14 consecutive calendar days but 14 days of effective use. Kudos, this can’t be seen very often these days!
